I am in the process of analyzing nitrosamines using QTRAP. One of the difficulties in my sample preparation would be using NMP as solvent to dissolve the material. Is it safe to inject approximately 10ul of NMP is QTRAP??

While we have not tried NMP internally, some colleagues believe it shouldn’t cause any issues with the LC or MS systems. The 10uL injection will probably be fine in regular reverse-phase conditions. It may not be suitable for use as a mobile phase. You should still monitor your column’s and system’s performance across batches.
