sgohman-kramer@fibertec.us on December 3, 2021 at 9:00 pm Hi Scienx PFAs team, I had a general question regarding the Environmental Compendium Volume 3 where you discussed the method and analysis of PFAs compounds in 537.1 on page 62. Step one in your procedure reads “1) Condition SPE tubes with 15 mL of water followed by 18 mL of methanol” however is the method not to condition with methanol and then water? Our environmental lab is having quite a few issues with our 537.1 prep so this difference in procedure peaked my interest. Thank you for any assistance you can provide and I look forward to hearing back from you. 1 Log in to Reply
Craig Butt on December 17, 2021 at 8:33 pm Thank you for pointing out the mistake in our technical note. You are correct, it should read as conditioning with methanol and THEN water. We have revised the tech note: https://sciex.com/tech-notes/environmental-industrial/water-and-soil/analysis-of-pfas-in-drinking-water-wepa-method-537-1 What problems are you having with the sample prep?
